  • Studied for 7 Years: Candidates who have studied in educational institutions in Telangana for seven consecutive academic years prior to appearing for the qualifying exam, even if they don’t meet the above criteria.
  • Parents’ Domicile/Employment: There are also conditions based on parents’ residency or employment in Telangana for a specified duration (e.g., 10 years of residence, employment with the State or Central Government within the state).

  • A domicile certificate is usually required as proof.

Tie-Breaker Rules (NEET UG 2026):

If two or more candidates get same score in NEET UG, the following tie-breaking criteria will be used in:

  1. Candidate with higher marks in Biology.
  2. If still tied, the candidate with higher marks in Chemistry.
  3. If the tie persists, the candidate with higher marks in Physics.
  4. If they are still tied, the candidate with a lower proportion of incorrect answers compared to correct answers in all subjects.  
  5. If necessary, preference will be given to candidates with a lower proportion of incorrect answers in Biology.
  6. If still unresolved, the candidate with a lower proportion of incorrect answers in Chemistry will be ranked higher.
  7. If still tied, the candidate with a lower proportion of incorrect answers in Physics will get preference.

If all the above criteria fail to resolve the tie, a random selection process will be used under the guidance of an independent expert committee.

Reservation Policy for MBBS Admission in Telangana

Telangana’s MBBS reservation policy allocates seats in medical colleges based on various categories. 15% of seats are reserved for SC, 6% for ST, 29% for OBC, and 10% for EWS candidates.
