NEET PG is a national-level entrance examination in India for admission to various MD/MS and PG diploma courses.
The NEET PG 2025 exam took place on August 3, 2025. It was a single-shift, computer-based test.
To be eligible, a candidate must have an MBBS degree from a recognized college, possess a permanent or provisional registration certificate from the NMC or a State Medical Council, and have completed their one-year rotatory internship by July 31, 2025.
The exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions for a total of 800 marks. The exam duration is 3 hours and 30 minutes. Each correct answer receives +4 marks, while each incorrect answer results in a -1 mark deduction. There's no penalty for unanswered questions.
The results for NEET PG 2025 were announced on August 25, 2025.
The counselling process for admission is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota (AIQ) seats and by state authorities for state quota seats. The process is conducted online and typically includes four rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up, and Stray Vacancy Round.
The cut-off scores are determined by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). Factors influencing the cut-off include the number of candidates, the difficulty level of the exam, and the total number of available seats. The cut-off is the minimum qualifying score a candidate must achieve to be considered for admission.
