Becoming a doctor in India is a clear process that starts after school and moves step by step. After completing Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, a student must appear for the NEET UG exam, which is required for medical admission. Based on the NEET score, students take part in counselling to join an MBBS course in a medical college. The MBBS program takes five and a half years, including one year of internship. After MBBS, students who want higher studies must clear NEET PG to enter MD or MS courses, and those interested in super-speciality can later appear for NEET SS for DM or MCh courses.
